P90X Update

Some of you have asked just how the P90X workout has been working for me lately in terms of weight loss. Well, I started July 27, 2009. I weighed 207 and had 29% body fat. As of last Friday, September 18, 2009 (that’s 53 days, or 1 Month and 22 Days for those who prefer to look at it that way) I weighed 203 and had 24% body fat. I weighed myself at the same time of day each time so that my body composition correlated correctly. Although the actual weight lost may seem small (only 3 pounds), the change in body composition has paid off. Based on the numbers, I have lost 11.31 pounds of fat and gained 7.31 pounds of muscle. One of the problems I have with the program “The Biggest Loser” is that by focusing solely on weight loss, contestants who gain weight through increased muscle mass are penalized. That doesn’t make sense to me.

Anyway, Yes, I am a P90X fan!!

P.S. I have to confess that I took a little over a week off in mid August due to scheduling difficulties I had when it came to getting my workouts done. And no, I am still not ready for before and after photos.
